THE ABC Repent and Receive
Acknowledge that you are a sinner
The word for sin is “khata”, meaning “to fail” or “to miss the mark or goal.” Which goal?
Perhaps to be a good person but “Nooneisgood—not even one.”
Nomatter how good a life we try to live, we still fall miserably short of being a good person.
Believe that Jesus Christ died on the cross for you
The penalty for sin is death but Jesus suffered death on the cross for us that we might be forgiven by God.
The Bible tell us that “The Cross represent the finish work of Christ, where all our sins, past, present and future
are forgiven and God showed His great love for us while we were still sinners”
This is the Good News, that God loves us so much that He sent His only
Son to die in our place when we least deserved it.
Confess your sin.
When weconfess, we are agreeing with God that we need His grace and forgiveness in our lives.
Repent and change your way.
“Metanoia” is the greek word for repentance that literally means a “Change of heart” a “Change of mind”
It can express the idea of gaining a new way of thinking and acting, or a new orientation to life.
Instead of running from God, we can run toward God.
Receive Jesus Christ into your life.
Becoming a Christian is not by repeating a prayer, believing a creed, going to church or doing good actions.
It is surrendering all, having Christ Himself
take residence in your life and heart.
Revelation 3:20 Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will
come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me.
If you have been born only once (physically), you will have to die twice (physically & spiritually).
But if you have been born twice (physically & spiritually), you will have to die only once (physically)
(and you may even escape that one death if Jesus returns to the earth during your lifetime)
